I put the blame at the feet of Mike Brown, the coach, because if Jalen Duran is not playing, who should be getting the ball?

Well, I mean, at least the game was tight and everything else like this. This was the ass-kicking and the third time this year that they got their ass kicked by Detroit. And this was coming back off of the NBA All-Star break. You got your two new guys on your team.

Chapter 2: What strategies could the coach have used during the game?
They're supposed to be tougher. And you know what? It was anything but that. It was, I mean, honestly, if I were at that game last night, I would have been booing my ass off. Because there are a lot of guys making a lot of money, and there's a new coach on that sideline that's supposed to be figuring this whole thing out.

The performance speaks for itself. And last night, if I'm Mike Brown, I have a hard time going to sleep. Because, you know, your ass was brought here so you could actually take this team to the next level. And what is happening is that you're getting stepped on by a team that is at the next level right now, especially without two of their better players.

And I agree with everything you're saying because it happened again last night. But the way that he was just abused... defensively last night, was the most alarming thing.
You know what? They need to extend the trade deadline. These guys need to think that they're going to get traded again. That's what they need.
That was the last time we saw them have major, major effort when that was going on and during the winning streak. I mean, he just... I hate when a team targets a guy knowing they're going to just run circles around him and then that happens. Like in a football game where you know you have a bad corner and then they target that guy and they go after him. Or your quarterback is shaky.
Or whatever it may be. You know, it's that one matchup that you know the other team, everybody knows it, and then they go after the guy, and then it happens.
But when it's one of your best players that you're counting on to be a cog in the wheel, a major cog in the wheel to win a championship at Carl Anthony Towns, and they're just running circles around him, you know, without the guy in Jalen Durant, who I've been talking about, I'm so scared about him in the playoffs just pushing Carl Anthony Towns into another dimension.

Chapter 3: How did the absence of key players affect the Knicks' performance?
Like, you got your toenail ripped off. Like, where are you at? And if he had told me or whoever was around, like, I'm 100%. I feel great. I can't wait to play this game. I mean, like, really, honestly, it goes around throughout the roster, but to me, I hold the coach accountable. Because, you know, if you know that the other team's big man who has basically swallowed up your guy is not playing, then you've got to try to exploit that any way you can. I think Cat only had, like, three attempts. In the first half. Yeah. And I'm like, I don't know.
Is the coach actually getting paid to coach and say something? Or is he just sitting there trying to be friends with everybody? I don't know. I really don't. Like, the thing about it is, I always would know that Tibbs would actually have the team's elbows sharpened. Like, he would have them ready to go.
Yeah.
I don't... There have been moments this year where you're thinking, okay, this team looks pretty damn good, and maybe this is the system that they should be playing. And then there are games against good teams, especially last night against Detroit, that really open your eyes, and you say to yourself, Is this team tough enough?
And this is why they brought in these two extra players, Jose Alvarado and Jeremy Sohan. Yeah, yeah. They're supposed to add toughness and defense to this team that, unfortunately, their star player is like a wallflower.
Uh, well, yes. I mean, uh, in, in Carl Anthony towns and, and, uh, you know, last night, I mean, Cade Cunningham was the best player. He might be the best player in the series. I mean, I, and I love Jalen Brunson, but if he plays like that last night in a, in a playoff series, I mean, there's just nothing you could do.

And not all of it is his fault. But it's almost like when you talk about, and this is why I had this after the Indiana game. I had the conversation. That's what it feels like.
And then when Carl Anthony Towns, because he's not the strongest mental and physical player out there, let's be honest, when he's not getting the ball or things are going bad for him defensively, then it becomes an avalanche. And then he's committing the bad fouls and he's laying on the court and he's going, no, and all these things that he does. And it's horrible.
So, I mean, but how do you fix it? I don't know, man. You know what you do is you extend the trade deadline. That's how you fix it.

So they all think that they're getting traded. I mean, now you understand why. If there was a real push to try to get Giannis, this is why. And I don't know how much that would have changed anything either. I mean, like, just the way that Mike Brown wants to play is just up and down and shoot threes.
And if you're not shooting threes, you're not making your threes, or you're not giving, you know, Carl Anthony Towns any opportunity to take advantage of a guy who's not playing. I don't know what to tell you. I mean, that is just a flat-out laydown last night that was just horrific. That's the only way I can put it. It's horrific.
And that's three times in a row now that Detroit has basically slapped the Knicks upside the head and said ā F off, man. We own your ass.
Yes, and that was... And this goes back to last year in the playoffs, man. You know that. Of course, and that's why they came into this year to prove a point, to send a message, and they've done that every single time. I was fully prepared to talk about this game.
