Things not going to plan exactly with the Jets and the Giants and their offensive coordinator search as you have the Giants now after Todd Munkin taking the head coaching job with the Cleveland Browns, reaching out to Bill Callahan. which is something that is interesting. Now, Bill has been around for a very, very long time. He's one of these offensive line coaches, offensive coordinators.

That quarterback coach should be the offense coordinator, and they should be working together every single day, and they need to get the most out of him.
So I don't want to disparage anybody in their coaching background or their resume, and Bill Callahan's resume, believe me, is a mile long, and there's a lot of respect that goes along with that. I'm thinking younger. Now, Todd Munkin was 60, but I also saw what he did with Lamar Jackson. And Lamar Jackson had two of his best years under Todd Munkin calling plays for him.
So this is a really, really important hire, as we all know. And I'm sure John Harbaugh realizes that. And that's why, if it were me, I'd probably be leaning towards Cliff Kingsbury. Oh, it's Brian Callahan, not Bill Callahan.

Chapter 3: Why is the offensive coordinator hire crucial for the Jets' quarterback development?
All right, so Cliff Kingsbury is the other one. Brian Callahan, those two at this point. Cliff Kingsbury, which is interesting to me because... Here you have a situation where he's the offensive coordinator for Jaden Daniels, who is the talk of the NFL. Absolute talk of the NFL, Jaden Daniels and his rookie season. Second year happens, there's a regression, bang, Bobby Slowik is gone. So the Kingsbury thing, I'm... I'm intrigued, but I don't understand why they moved on so quickly.
Well, he coached Patrick Mahomes at Texas Tech. Colin Murray in Arizona. And then, of course, Jaden Daniels. So those are three young quarterbacks that he has coached that all have had a modicum of success at some point in their career when he coached them. So does that make sense? Makes a ton of sense. Again, I think it's going to come down to personality.
It's going to come down to John Harbaugh wanting somebody he could trust.
Yeah. I mean, and also you're not going to get a lot of information. It's not like John Harbaugh can call Dan Quinn now that he's in the division.
But here's the one thing I just want to say, again, about the Northeast. Whether you have a Drake May, you have, and I would consider Washington, obviously on the East Coast, cold-weather games down there. I want somebody who's got a quality running game. I want somebody like Clint Kubiak, who is going to be run first, block it up, and let the quarterback throw the ball down the field.
And both the Patriots and the Seahawks are very similar in that regard. They both have two running backs, but obviously Charbonnet is hurt for Seattle. But they run the ball first. They run it at least 50% of the times. Cliff Kingsbury has always been known more as a passing guru.
Sure. You also want a pair. This is the reason why I know you said you wanted younger, but I like the Todd Munkin thing because obviously the history that him and John Harbaugh had and then what the results they got out of Lamar Jackson.

And now, all of a sudden, they're bringing in another veteran offensive coordinator interview, and that is Greg Roman, who was most recently with... Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers and also was with John Harbaugh and the Ravens prior to that. And now he is someone that Aaron Glenn is talking to.
So you said earlier that you didn't have an update with Frank, but this seems odd to me because things were trending in a certain direction with Frank. And that was positively as far as him being named the offensive coordinator. Now they're bringing in Greg Roman.
Yeah, I don't know. Contract snag? Yeah, I don't know. I can't tell you. I wish I could. I wish I could give you some insight as to what's going on, and I can't.
But I think on the surface, seeing Greg Roman come in and interview feels like something happened in the negotiations with Frank. From my just assessing the situation, and I think many people can deduce that.
Well, what I think I see is I think whoever the offensive coordinator is is going to want to bring in a couple coaches along with him. Yeah. Right. They're going to be able to they're going to want to be able to speak his language, teach his system and make sure that everybody's on the same page.
And the more allies you have in the most important positions on the coaching staff that you are trying to teach is very helpful. So I don't know that could be part of the snafu here if there is a snafu.
Okay. Yeah, I mean, that is so got to bring this guy, got to bring that guy. Well, this person's here who we like. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah.
I mean, there's all sorts of things that are probably going on. But, you know, again, the Jets are... The one thing I will say, whether we like it or not, again, this also could be run by Rick Spielman, who's still a part of the Jets. He is a senior advisor for the Jets.
Yeah, he was with the 33rd team and then stuck as an advisor.
