Chapter 1: What issues exist between Jalen Brunson and Carl Anthony Towns?
Do you feel like there is a real problem between Jalen Brunson and Carl Anthony Towns?
Dwight, that's a hard thing to say. I can only go by what I watched last night when Jalen Brunson wasn't on the court, and I was paying so much more attention to it because Jose Alvarado was out there, and the things that you were saying yesterday about how Jose goes right to Carl Anthony Towns.
Now, I don't know if that's by design because that's exactly what the coach wants him to do, or that's just something that the two of them have in common. They have a sync. Whether it be him throwing to Carl Anthony Towns or him cutting off of Carl Anthony Towns last night, a couple times, a couple give-and-go's, and they were pretty good plays. And I like the way that they look together.
There's no question about it. And there's no question also that when Jalen Brunson's on the basketball court, the basketball's going to be in his hands 75% of the time.
Yeah, so a couple of things.

Chapter 2: How does Jalen Brunson's playing style affect the Knicks' performance?
Well, I wish this win last night would have happened against a better basketball team so we could have...
evaluated a little bit better because the memphis grizzlies are a mess they're one of these teams that is tanking to try to get up to the top of the draft so you really it's really tough to evaluate but the reason why i do think there is at least a little bit of a problem is because of how carl anthony towns just looked out there he looked so much more into it we just saw him against houston walk off the court
look nowhere at his teammates, not slap any fives after a great pass that led to points to go into the half and then sulked into halftime. And then, you know, last night he's running around. He's more inspired. He is happier than he talks about moving the basketball around in the postgame, which obviously they did a hell of a lot better without Jalen Brunson out there.
Now, this is not a criticism of Jalen Brunson. The Knicks need Jalen Brunson more than anybody else. He's the best. He's transformed this team. But there is a lot of ball stopping with him. He is more of an isolation guy than we want to admit sometimes. And he has had to do that. He's had to be the hero. He's had to have these 40-point games in the playoffs for them to win.
And I think the best version of the Knicks as presently constituted has him taking a little bit of a step back and getting the ball out of his hands and finding Carl Anthony Towns a hell of a lot more than he has this entire season.
Here's one of the things that I take out of last night's game. Carl Anthony Towns didn't have any three-point shot attempts. So that meant that the game plan was get the ball into Carl Anthony Towns because there's really nobody that can cover him.

Chapter 3: What impact does Carl Anthony Towns have on the game without Jalen Brunson?
Nobody can stop him on the Memphis roster. It's completely different when they play teams that are better. And I'm telling you right now, there are two teams ā And one of them may be a team that they see in the first round of the playoffs, and that is the Philadelphia 76ers. They're there getting healthy, and they're starting to win. The other team is the Boston Celtics.
I mean, they're rolling. And Jason Tatum's now playing up to 30 minutes a game. So it's obvious that other teams within the conference are getting better. They're getting healthier. They're actually even playing better. I mean, who would have thought that Philadelphia would be 42-34 given everything that's gone on there the last five years?
Sure. I mean, they were dead in the water last year. It didn't look like they had much of a chance this year. See, but I'm not... I'm not worried about anybody really other than Boston and Detroit. I'm not. Now, maybe that's foolish.
No.
Chapter 4: Why is it difficult to evaluate the Knicks' win against the Memphis Grizzlies?
No. I'm not. And this may come back to bite me, but I just, I'm not. And if they lose to one of those teams, it's a complete failure of epic proportions. If they lose to a team other than Boston or Detroit, I mean, that's like blow it up time.
I mean, could you see, I mean, could you end up seeing the final four in the Eastern Conference could be the top four teams. So the Cavaliers, Knicks, and Celtics, and Pistons. Meaning that the Knicks and the Celtics would end up meeting in the second round.
Yeah. Just like last year.
Just like last year. And that's the thing that I would be concerned about as we sit here right now. Which team would you rather see, assuming they win their first-round matchup, which is not going to be a given the way that they've been playing against good teams.
The problem is that their last ā three of their last four games were against top-tier teams, and they looked overwhelmed, and they didn't look connected. And if you think ā
You and I heard Carmelo Anthony talking about how they're disconnected and how Tracy McGrady said Carl Anthony Towns, I'm paraphrasing here, is disgusted by his body language and everything else watching this game against Houston. Don't you think Carl Anthony Towns heard that? Yeah, I would think so.
Yeah, all of his buddies are telling him, man, they're ripping you on the show, and Carmel's all over you, and Tracy McGrady's all over you. And then you remember you had Shaq telling him, you got to be great, you got to be great.

Chapter 5: How do the Knicks compare to other teams in the Eastern Conference?
I mean, he's getting it from all different angles.
Yeah, of course. That's what happens when you come here. You're supposed to be great and you're one of the best players on the team. And obviously he's got a lot of stuff going on in his personal life as well as we have details. It's not easy. It's not. But it was good to see him play the way that he did and get that triple-double last night.
I just want to see that against a good team with Jalen Brunson on the floor sometime in the next five games.
You know, the basketball court for him...
Chapter 6: What can be expected from the Knicks in the upcoming playoffs?
should be his safe space.
That should be his get away from what's happening in real life and just go out there and play basketball and do something that you've been doing since you were a kid and something that you dreamed of doing and getting away from all issues away from the court and just go out there and play basketball and enjoy at least those three hours that you're with your buddies and you're playing.
