In this episode, I talk John Heyesen, CEO of Arbor Wood Co., about his popular product line on thermally modified wood products. In a 3 stage process, all the sugars are cooked out of wood to make it resistant to pests and mold. Steam stabilizes the wood so it doesn't warp. One of his products has a charred top surface, similar to Yakisugi or Shou Sugi Ban Japanese wood. Check out the video on my channel for all the info!
