Episode 18: DEI and Intersectionality with Div Pillay

Div Pillay is the CEO of MindTribes and Co-Founder of, social enterprise, Culturally Diverse Women [CDW]. With a background in behavioural economics, psychology, and qualitative data research, she is an expert in gender, race and cultural inclusion. MindTribes offers a unique proposition – behaviourally solving for exclusion, creating an impact on the individual (voice & value) and organisation (brand & business metrics). As part of its social impact, MindTribes has created Culturally Diverse Women to ensure inclusion at the intersection of gender, culture, and age (career-life stages). Prior to founding MindTribes in 2012, Div spent 14 years in People & Culture roles working across Australia, Asia and South Africa. Div was named as one of the 100 Women of Influence, 2018 (AFR & Qantas), was a past Board Director at STREAT, is a current Board Director at VicHealth, and is the National Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, American Chamber of Commerce. Div is listed in 2021, as one of two Australians in a list of the 25 Global Influencers by the AACSB International, the world’s largest global business education alliance. She is committed to working with businesses to co-create systemic and sustainable change so that their workforces reflect the communities and customers they serve, especially at decision making levels. In addition to her corporate background, Div is an engaging and authentic presenter, and powerful storyteller. A trailblazer for culturally and linguistic diverse peoples, Div draws upon her lived experiences and weaves in elements of education on bias through curated scenarios, encouraging audience members to reflect and consider actual steps that can be taken to combat bias.
