Chapter 1: What are the top film and TV recommendations for this week?
Time now for The Watch List, our top TV and film recommendations for the week ahead. And I'm joined today by Dave O'Callaghan, host of the Here and Back Again podcast, who joins us in a brief respite between two Metallica gigs and Serena Bellissimo, host of The Bellissimo Files. Good afternoon, guys.
Hello.
So, Serena, Toy Story 5 in cinemas now. I presume you did a test screening with some kids for us, did you?
I did. Thank you. And I'm really worried about sitting next to Dave because we have differing opinions on this. I think I have differing opinions even from the kids I talk. Okay. If you haven't seen this one, basically it's Toy Story doing what Toy Story does best, but this time the toys are at threat because there's electronics have been introduced into their lives. So, it's all about that.
I don't know... I think I built this up. I really, really wanted to love it.

Chapter 2: What are the initial thoughts on Toy Story 5?
For me, I think it's a, for once, it's a me, not for once, but I think it's a me problem rather than a film problem. I maybe wasn't in the mood.
A lot of other people had the problem as well. The reception is pretty mixed.
Yeah, I wasn't in the mood to receive this. I don't know if we really needed it. I could have built it up, but don't worry about me because the six-year-old friend that I took said it was good. I love Jessie because she's a girl and it was very funny. And then the eight-year-old said it was good, funny, exciting and sad a lot. I'd watch it again.
And they both gave it three and a half and four stars. So they absolutely loved it. And Dave raves about it too.
Three and a half and four, like from kids, that's mid, I would say. Usually if kids like something, they give it ten out of five. Exactly.
I give it 10 out of 5 I absolutely adored it I love the tech I love Conan O'Brien as Smarty Pants and he's kind of old tech so he's having the same problem of being replaced by Lilypad Greta Lees but I just loved and the toilet humour yes I adored it I thought it was fantastic number 4 doesn't exist in my world I hated number 4 and I think this is not a cash grab this is a beautiful story that doesn't want to make you cry but subtly makes you cry and that's just a personal experience
Anyway, I love this.
Yeah, great. All right, Toy Story 5 in cinemas now. Serena the Bear is back. This is the final season on Disney Plus, dropping Friday. I would say probably one of the best, most interesting, inventive TV shows of the last few years.
That's come in a very long time.

Chapter 3: How do kids react to Toy Story 5?
The only criticism we've had for it over the last four seasons and now the fifth is that every time it put itself into a category for awards, it was always in comedy. Yeah. Now, this is not a comedy.
It should be in stress.
Exactly.
This is a category for stress for watching.
And the only reason this was in comedy was because, yeah, in comedy was because Succession was winning everything. So they had to find a way to sort of win the stuff. Now, look, this, I'm not allowed to review it. I will say I have seen seven episodes. Yeah. And this is different to the other season. I'm trying not to review it. But what I am saying is that it's gone more like The Pit.
It focuses on one day as opposed to lots of days.
The whole seven so far have been one day.
Yeah, there's eight episodes. I haven't seen the eighth yet. But look, what I can say is it's tense. It's stressful. And I think without, I'm not, this isn't a review, but what I'm saying is it is time to say goodbye to the bear, I think, or else if it went for another season.
But is it a fitting end, like?

Chapter 4: What makes The Bear a standout show on Disney Plus?
He is fantastic. His costumes, our outfits are to die for. And he's like, he's just hamming it up every episode. I absolutely, I didn't know. A lot of people know what happened. I had no clue. I went in blind.
How did you miss all of it?
Because I was watching Dragons and Toy Stories and listening to Metallica. Anyway, I absolutely loved it. And Maura is just fantastic.
So go in knowing nothing, yeah?
She holds her own because she's up against some major US celebrities who are, especially those Real Housewives, they are scary people.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You could crumble in that situation.
She is dissing it back like there's no tomorrow.
Amazing. And it's fantastic. And it's all up there in the player. And I think they have previous sessions of previous seasons. Yes. And then Australia. The Australian all on the player there. Serena, tell me about Chris and Martina, the final set. This is an extraordinary story.
Yes. So this lands on Netflix on Friday. And Chris and Martina are basically looking back at their career. And they were 1980s tennis. This is Chris Avert and Martina Navratilova. Again, first names, Brendan. They, in the 80s, 70s, 80s, they were ladies tennis. So it's interesting. They're looking back at their partnership together. That's on Netflix this Friday. I cannot wait for that.

Chapter 5: What are the highlights of House of the Dragon's new season?
So it's not too in-depth and nerdy, if that makes sense. It's actually fun. Micah is hilarious. I think what I've realised is I would just watch Micah doing anything. So if you want, if you love your football, I think you're going to love this. If you're wanting to know what's happening in the World Cup, because they're going live every day, six o'clock in the morning, they go live.
Or then you can watch it back or listen back whenever you like. It is pure entertainment. And I'm getting the facts I need to know.
The rest is football on Netflix every day. Dave. Sugar season two started on Apple on Friday. Now, if Colin Farrell wasn't in this, would we be watching it?
Probably not. Well, I say that and then I kind of go, but it is beautifully shot and it does have a twist that's right down my street, but I'm not going to reveal because no one seems to have watched season one. I didn't think we were getting a season two and then it turned up. He's a private investigator. He loves movies.
So it's intercut with all these black and white scenes of Humphrey Bovert and his whole mannerisms are all quite, but there is this kind of overarching plot line that is literally insane. And you're like...
at the end of the first season you kind of go what just happened now and then the second one they don't talk about it for a while and then it's back again but it's kind of like yeah that's over there but let's do the detective stuff I think it's kind of a really cool show and I'm loving it and he carries it he is fantastic and the way he's trying to be Humphrey Bogart and all that but in the back of my mind I'm like going that thing is over there and I'm not saying it because it is so insane you have to watch it and go did that just happen did I dream that
Sugar Season 2 has started on Apple on Friday. Dave O'Callaghan and Serena Bellissimo, thank you very much.
