A Ph.D in Hindi literature from the Delhi University and former Head of the BBC Hindi service in London, Achala Sharma has authored and published three collections of short stories, Bardasht Bahar, Sookha Hua Samudra, Madhyanatar, and two volumes of 10 radio plays- Jaren and Passport- that were broadcast by the BBC Hindi service. She presents one of her latest Hindi stories "Meherchand Ki Dua' in her own voice.
