Lauren Frances is a self proclaimed Backwoods Barbie, Cancer sun, Pisces moon, Gemini rising, straightedge, loud and sassy artist from a small town in Kansas. In this episode, Lauren and I talk the parallels of our childhoods and the constant chaos of her youth spent with a disabled father and a mother with drug and alcohol problems. She talks getting sober at 14, dealing with her mother’s reputation as a convicted felon, and reinventing and redefining herself through the discovery of Minor Threat. We chat reparenting techniques we have learned and Lauren talks how not to be a shitty parent to her son, Will when you don’t have the best childhood examples.
