Today’s guest is Hazel Gardiner - a florist and design stylist, with a background in creative arts and TV production. Hazel has used her unique experience to create installations for companies such as Channel 4, and Arcadia to name a few, and we chat about Hazel’s journey to starting her business, using video as a marketing tool and I also ask Hazel about her relationship with nature as it’s something that feeds into her work. We also talk about Hazel’s journey with cancer - I know that this can be a sensitive topic if you or loved ones are going through treatment, so I just wanted to give you a heads up. Things we talked about: - The journey from selling vintage clothing and falling out of love with it, to finding a new career path - How a cancer diagnosis made Hazel reassess her work and life - Setting up the floristry business - and being open to all types to projects in order to find your true style - Cultivating the confidence to follow what you really want to do - The importance of finding out what you don’t want to do - Having the courage to share your story and leading the way for conversations around the BLM movement and diversity in the florist industry - Utilising video as a powerful way to connect with your audience You can find Hazel here: https://www.hazelgardinerdesign.com https://www.instagram.com/hazelgardinerdesign/ Hazel’s creative session with 91 Magazine - https://91magazine.co.uk/creative-sessions
