Chapter 1: What feud is reignited between Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes?
What's going on, guys? It's World's Strongest Man, and we are discussing SmackDown tonight. A lot going on. Don't miss it. This is the Busted Open Podcast. Jay Cargill and Rhea Ripley, you know, you have this underlying tension. From the match that they had at WrestleMania. And you know that that was so good that you got to run it back.
And it was cool to see Jay Cargill present that and Rhea Ripley accept. There's no running. There's no hiding. There's no, I don't know. And maybe none of that. It was like, shit, let's do it. What are we waiting on? And so it was good to see that. That fired me up. I also thought that Trick Williams and Mello, wow. They did the damn thing.
And, you know, like I'm going to sit here and I'm not going to take credit for the acknowledges that was presented to me. But I was talking to Andre and Andre said, I think that this is the new Johnny Gargano Ciampa. This is the new Kevin Owens and Sammy feud. And it's a long brewing, long lasting deal because they started off friends first. They warred with each other. And
For, shoot, lack of a better term, it went a decade. Sami Zayn and KO over a decade and Ciampa and Gargano over a decade. And this might be the few, maybe the few that Johnny Gargano needs to get crunk up again because he is dead in the water, just laying there like a fish that's been gutted. I mean, it's just pitiful.
But to get back to Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes, you got to understand the dynamic of these guys. Carmelo was the principal and Trick was the understudy. And Carmelo was having the main event matches on NXT when Trick was standing on the floor watching, standing on the floor helping, learning what it took to be the guy. And somewhere along the lines, it flipped because that's what happens.
Cream rises to the top. And Carmelo, even though Carmelo got screwed out of his opportunity before Mania, did he come to the ring with piss and vinegar and you screwed me over and I can't stand you. And then Carmelo didn't do that. Carmelo came to the ring like, listen, man, you know, in your heart of hearts, because we started off brothers. That you screwed me over. But you know what?
You did that. And he chalked it up as a part of the game. Andre, I used to play basketball when I was in my younger days. And I would go to the rec.

Chapter 2: How do Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes compare to past wrestling rivalries?
I would go to Gregory Gym. I would go to Clark Field. I would go to ACC. All these infield, they had really good basketball here in Austin. And all the guys that knew how to play knew that that's where you go. And there was a one guy. He was a Coca-Cola delivery guy named Ed, Big Ed. And he was my contemporary because he was a big guy too.
And he would pull up, see the Coca-Cola truck, and I would just... Oh, shit. Here he come. And that was my rival. But me and Ed liked each other. But when we got out there on the floor or on the court, man, we went at each other. And it was some elbows thrown and some pushing and some fouling. That is what I see in Carmelo and Trick.
Regardless of the fact that who is the principal, now they look at each other as equals, as adversaries, but they respect each other. Now, Lil Yachty, Lil Yachty is that little dog that's barking. And those people, Always get in the way. Andre, you got that sound Lil Yachty with his chitter chatter.
When you a champion as big as Trick Williams, you got a schedule from head to toe. It's field, baby. My man got things to do. Hey, hold on. Can anybody here understand what this guy's saying? You and I, we go way back. Day one. The old Trick Williams, he wouldn't let somebody tell him what to do and when to do it. But then again, I guess you were always better at playing second fiddle.
Oh, my God. He didn't just hit him with that ditty, Andre. Man, look, there's many things that I can handle. But the one thing that I can't handle is somebody putting it on me that I'm being controlled by the almighty Oz. From behind the curtain, somebody is puppeteering me. Mm-mm. Don't like it, never did.
And we was able to see Trick Williams step up and go, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. This is going down. And we got it. And it was everything that I wanted it to be. Trick Williams is an unbelievable talent, y'all. And he gets your attention right off the bat.
But Carmelo Hayes, he may be challenged vertically, but talent-wise, skill-wise, toughness, enduring, like where is the weakness? There is none.

Chapter 3: What dynamics exist between Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes during their matches?
So these guys went at it and we had one hell of a match all the way until Ricky Sainz decided that he wanted a front row seat. He wanted to step up and he wanted to watch, but more than watching, he interfered. And it wasn't like, hey, Ricky Sainz, come to the ring, help me. No. No, not at all. He didn't come out there to support Carmelo. Ricky Saints loves Ricky Saints.
And he thought that he could get some attention. So he came out and he interfered in business that didn't belong to him. Well, usually what happens to people when they put their nose in business that belongs to them, they usually get what's coming to them. And that is exactly what happened. Kathy Kelly was doing her thing, talking to Carmelo or talking to Ricky Saints and out of nowhere,
Carmelo flew in like Superman and cracked him in the side of the head. And that's what he deserved. Because you get in a grown man business, and you play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And I want to see more of that. I think that it might have been what Ricky Saints wanted all along, is he wanted attention on him.
But the thing about it is Carmelo doesn't have the title, but he figures that if I can eliminate Carmelo, then maybe I can be the one that can step up to trick Williams. What a sneaky, shady son of a gun. And I can see it too. I can see it too. You could tell right off the bat that Trick had nothing to do with it. It wasn't like that Trick was looking for somebody to rescue him.
And that was good business. It was good business. Also, the tag match, Nia Jax, Last Legend, Or not tag match, the match between Last Legend and Tiffany Stratton with Nia on the floor. It was a good match. And I thought that the women really shined today because the tag match that had Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley also stole the show.
Like, you had a really good match with Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams, and then right behind it, and Andre, you can correct me, but I think I told you that I thought that it was a tie or it was a close second to see Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley, even though they could not... They just couldn't get along. Alexa Bliss is doing her damnedest to keep them on the same page.
But against Fatal Influence, it went down and it was really, really good. Man, I'm going to tell you something. Fatal Influence, they are slowly, slowly setting themselves up to be the rookies of the year. Right now, you tell me somebody else. I mean, I love seeing what Ricky Saints is doing. Ethan Page is doing great.
I wouldn't consider Oba no rookie because he's been around for a couple of years. It's just that now he's starting to really take a hold. Who else are some rookies that you look at, Andre, and you think, oh, yeah, you forgot about this one, Mark?
Javon Evans.

Chapter 4: What insights does Mark Henry provide about the women's matches on SmackDown?
Yeah, it's still his rookie year. We only saw him pop on Raw just a few months ago.
Okay, well, I guess NXT doesn't count. So in the grand scheme of things, when you come up to it.
All the more reason, Mark. Like Javon literally just popped on just a couple of months ago.
On the main roster. Yeah, you're right. So it is his rookie season. So this is his rookie year, yeah. So Javon is doing really good. But I'm going to tell you something. The reaction that Fatal Influence got on their opening night and these last three matches that they've had, They've been pretty damn good. And it's not like we're hiding talking about what they're doing because you can't.
But Mark, there's only one name so far right now that we could put side by side with Fatal Influence and say, this lady might have Rookie of the Year. And I would have to give it to Sol Ruka.
Okay, well, I mean, I would put Sol Ruka in there, but I got to see her in Championship... And right now she's building towards it with Becky Lynch. But that rookie conversation is definitely something that we need to keep a pulse on. We need to week to week do the rookie report because we never done it before. And we just invented something, Andre. Damn it, we are live.
We're going to do that, Andre. We're going to get together every week, and we're going to say what we think about what the rookies are doing. But to get back to the matter at hand, I really enjoyed watching Fatal Influence battle with the best. You got the two. I mean, it's arguable. You can always argue. Who's the best? But outside of Becky Lynch and maybe Alexa Bliss and... You know what?
I think that's going to be it for me right now. To put two people together like Rhea Ripley and Charlotte, it'd be hard to do, Andre. And they shined tonight. Coming up next, I continue my breakdown of SmackDown.

Chapter 5: How does Cody Rhodes address Sami Zayn's frustrations?
He plays them compliments, but it's always, yeah, but it's, I didn't get an opportunity. So, I mean, you got to the top, but you know, you didn't face me. And yeah, it's just very whiny. It's very, I think it's beneath them. And that's what Cody was saying. Cody was basically telling him like, bro, Why are you making this about you and your failure to become champion and stay champion?
Yes, you did good with the Open Challenge and the USA title. But when it comes to holding this, you just haven't measured up. And that's messing with Sammy, because what hurts the most? Somebody telling you a lie or somebody telling you the truth? The truth hurts. And we saw him air his grievances and dirty laundry to Johnny Gargano. It was kind of like just venting. Johnny was not engaging him.
It was just like he needed an ear to talk to. Do we have that sound? We don't have that sound. But I'll paraphrase. Sammy basically went into telling Johnny that he's just as good as everybody. He don't get the opportunities. You understand what I'm saying, Johnny. And I never said, I never said that Sami Zayn was as good as Roman Reigns. I never said that he was as good as Kevin Owens.
I never said that he was as good as Cody Rhodes or Randy Orton or any of the stars that he's battled with. Gunther, he's had his moments with Trick. He had his moments with Carmelo. Dragging off. You go down the list. I've never said, talked about, but what I have said is Sammy is more resilient. He's more passionate. And he can talk paint dry.
But Sammy has to come to grips with sometimes you don't have to be as accomplished and skilled as everybody else. You got to be you. He forgetting who the hell he is. So I think at some point, all of this is gonna come to a realization moment. And then Sammy is gonna get it all together. And before this year's over, y'all gonna think I'm crazy. Before this year's over,
I don't know who it's going to be, who he's going to beat to get there. But I think this is the year that Sami Zayn gets to hold the title up. Andre, you think I'm wispy in the wind or I'm on to something?
Possible but unlikely on my book, I don't see Sami winning the title. I would be just as shocked to see Sami winning the title as when Jinder Mahal won the title back in 2017.

Chapter 6: What role does Ricky Sainz play in the matches discussed?
That was pure shock.
Exactly. Pure shock. How did it happen? How did you get in the situation in the first place to have an opportunity? And I think that You know, Money in the Bank is always one of those. Royal Rumble is one of those. Like, you have opportunities where you can go and surprise somebody.
I'm hoping that... Hold that thought, Mark. You're onto something now. Money in the Bank is coming up, and if Sami Zayn's holding that briefcase, that could be chaotic.
Bro, imagine whoever's in the title picture... They have a war. They can barely stand up. Barely raise the hand. The referee has got to pick their hand up while they're on the ground when the other person rolls out of the ring. And then his damn music hits. Damon Priest has always been one of the guys that I looked at in pro wrestling where
If you saw him walk in a room, you'd be like, damn, who is that guy? He's got to do something. He's got pro wrestler written all over him. But also a guy that tonight he faced has pro wrestler written all over him too. And that's Solo Sakoa. Solo is not yet founded to where He can accept the loss. Sometimes, Andre, you know what, man? It's like pops in Friday. You remember the movie Friday?
A little bit.
For all the people that, you know, if you know Friday, you know, good for you. For those that haven't seen it, y'all got homework. You need to watch Friday. There's a scene in it where Ice Cube's character is so pissed and so fed up that he goes and gets a gun. And his dad intercepts him and sees him get a gun and go, what are you doing?
And he says, listen, once upon a time, men handled their business with these and he put his hands up. He said, and you win some and you lost some. but you lived to fight another day. Solo needs to see this damn movie because he won't accept the damn loss. As soon as somebody shines and starts to kick his ass a little bit, oh, here come the MFTs. I am done. I'm tired of it. And it was good that
Royce Keyes was there to save Damian Priest.

Chapter 7: How do the tensions between Damian Priest and Royce Keyes develop?
But the problem is Damian Priest, he don't know Royce Keyes. Royce Keyes is one of those rookies that we talking about. Now he's had a career other places, but for what we're talking about, being on Raw or on SmackDown, And that's where the tire meets the road. On Smackdown, he came out there and helped, but Priest didn't know that. Priest put his hands on Keyes.
And of course it came to a head and they met up in the back. And we don't have the sound because Dan Housen was messing up with everything and the power went out and we weren't able to get some footage and the sound from it. But we're going to make do. Oh, damn it. Now I got to go and pay him $20 to uncurse me. Royce Keyes came up and he asked Priest, he was like, hey man, what's your problem?
Your boy told me to look out for you. And then here you are doing this bullshit. And he said to him, I don't know you. How was I supposed to know what your intentions were? And I get that because Andre, I have a rule. And you know, you, we've been out a couple of times together. Had broke bread, had dinner, went out a couple of spots. But I've never told you this rule.
If I ever get into it with somebody, don't grab me. Don't try to stop me because you become the enemy too. Now, if you want to do something, you go grab their ass and try to get them out of there. Try to talk them down because a couple of things can happen in this scenario. They can get mad and they can hit you and now I can mop the floor with their ass.
Or I might just be feeling like, you know what, I need a distraction. And you telling them and they look at you, as soon as their eyes leave me, that's when you see, boom, the missile comes.
So are we doing like a Madden cage set up here? Like I'm just going to feed them to you. They just swing them out of the park.
Hey man, if that's what happens afterwards, then do that. But I'm just letting you know, don't touch me because everybody gets served. And I hate you didn't know me in my younger days because, and I'm glad that they didn't have the internet because I would have been, I'd have been famous. I'd have been internet famous.
I was polished by then, but nonetheless, I'm very curious of what it would look like to see Royce Keys and Priest. Hey, you talk about an introduction. You don't have to win or lose. It's like Pop said on Friday, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but you live to fight another day. I can see a trilogy of matches, different styles of matches with Priest and Royce Keyes.
Like, oh, you got lucky in that. How about this match? How about an over-the-top rope match? How about a cage match? That way nobody's going to interfere with us. And the only way that you win is if you walk out that door.

Chapter 8: What predictions does Mark Henry make for Sami Zayn's future in wrestling?
No going over the top. Just me and you. Mano y mano. Like, mix it up. Make it better. I mean, I just truly believe that there's always a way. And when I saw those two face off, it just made me go, ooh, I'd love to be able to write this. I'd love to be able to be a contributor for this because I'm here for it all. What Denise Salcedo say? Big men slapping meat.
Of course, she got that from Big E. I love the meat. When the meat is good, the meat is good. An oldie but a goodie. But I'm going to tell you something, man. That would be something that I would be very interested in.
