Jesperi Kotkaniemi had the first 5-point game of his NHL career, notching a goal and four assists, Martin Necas had three helpers, and the Hurricanes went 4 for 5 on the power play in winning their second straight game. Carolina is now 7 for 9 with the man advantage the last two nights with the addition of defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere, who tallied a power play goal for the second straight night and tossed in a couple of assists as well. Freddie Andersen didn't have to do much, but a shut out is a shut out -- his first of the year, and Carolina's 7th as a team. The Canes lead the Metro by 2 points over the Devils with a game in hand.
