19 Jun 2017

Description

Have you ever been rejected from a position or from an application for the reason that you are overqualified?  This is legitimate reason to turn someone down for positions however there are a lot of assumptions and myths out there around this topic so let’s talk about this!  I want to talk about this topic in 4 main topics.  Common Myths  People think they are getting rejected because they are too old  “I was told I was overqualified for the position but now what I think is you won’t hire me because I will someday take the hiring manager’s job” The hiring manager or recruiter feels threatened  Candidate Concerns  Income  Supporting their family  They want to do work that is easier than what they have been doing in the past  HR / Human Resources / Recruiting / Hiring Manager Concerns  Offering people work that is going to challenging and exciting for them  We feel people will leave early or right away  Position alignment  Compensation  Things You Can Do Aim higher  If you’re looking to do easier work, ensure you are talking to everyone you talk about why you want to make the move and what is motivating this transition  Being overqualified is not the same as being under qualified for a position.  To connect -  Facebook:  www.Facebook.com/StephDennis13
