Cataract Coach with Uday Devgan MD

89: CataractCoach Podcast 89: Edward Holland MD

08 Dec 2024

Description

Severe damage to the ocular surface can mean near total loss of vision for patients and these complex injuries require specialized care for rehabilitation. Our guest surgeon is Prof. Edward Holland MD who has developed techniques such as the Cincinnati procedure for Ocular Surface Transplantation and has now started the Holland Foundation For Sight to establish multiple centers of excellence across the USA (and eventually internationally) to teach other ophthalmologists these techniques. There are estimated to be more than 100,000 patients in the USA alone who could benefit from this type of anterior segment reconstruction. At the end of this podcast we have more information about the foundation and then tomorrow's CataractCoach video will showcase these surgical techniques in detail. We feature a new podcast every week on Sundays and they are uploaded to all major podcast services (click links here: Apple, Google, Spotify) for enjoying as you drive to work or exercise. I am really excited to share these amazing podcasts with you. The full video of the podcast is here on CataractCoach as well as on our YouTube channel. For 2024 our podcast is sponsored by Harrow, Inc and we are thankful for their support.
