Tribute to the Delhi Victim - Dec 30, 2012

05 Aug 2013

Description

It is customary for any radio or TV show to have their last show of the year end on a jubilant note, but the last few weeks have shown the world that the humans are far from being called civilized. This week, the brave 23 year old girl from New Delhi who was brutally assaulted and gang raped, died on 12/29. We pay tribute to her courage and would like to dedicate this program to condemn the violence against women. The world did not come to an end in 2012 but the mass shooting in Newtown, the death of the girl in Delhi and so many similar incidents which go unreported tell us that we still have a long way to go before there is no hatred or violence in the world. We hope and pray that the new year brings us a more peaceful world. “You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty." Mahatma Gandhi With this sentiment, in this show we play music to pay tribute to Delhi victim.
