#002 - Richard Nicholls | Dive Against Debris

08 Apr 2022

Description

In an ideal world, Dive Against Debris would never exist. Beneath the pristine Manly shoreline, plastic bags, party balloons, baseball caps and t-shirts are among the most common items found littered on the harbour bed. Marine debris washes into the sea from the roads and beaches to create a hazardous environment for the unique and delicate aquatic life at Manly Cove and Shelly Beach.Richard Nicholls and his SCUBA diving buddies from Dive Centre Manly are dedicated to removing this rubbish while conducting monthly Dive Against Debris surveys. This helps to improve the health of our ocean ecosystems but more needs to be done.
