Claim Your Confidence with Lydia Fenet

Finding Your Brightness with Morgan Hutchinson

16 Apr 2024

Description

Morgan Hutchinson is a person that exudes brightness, happiness, and fun. And as the founder and CEO of BURU, a brand dedicated to providing polished and easy-to-wear clothes for every stage of a woman’s life, Morgan brings that contagious energy to every design. Founded in 2013, BURU got its start through brand curation with a focus on functional clothes for new mothers. However, over time the brand has grown to feature its own in-house designs, produced small-batch from deadstock fabrics by BURU’s international partners or the brand’s very own Los Angeles-based factory. In this episode, we discuss how motherhood inspired BURU, how Morgan shifted from curation to bringing her own designs to life, and how confidence comes when you are no longer hiding your true self. Don’t miss this interview where we discuss:Morgan’s previous entrepreneurial experience co-founding the brand Passport Panties and what she took away from the journey when creating BURUMoving to Beijing in her twenties and how Morgan became involved in fashion stylingHow becoming a new mother made Morgan realize that fashion companies were not providing for that demographic and how BURU aimed to fill that gapInvesting in your brand and how Morgan built her own production factory in Los AngelesMorgan’s journey being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and the importance of discussing and de-stigmatizing mental healthFind Morgan Hutchinson:www.shopburu.comIG: @bipolarblondemom & @shopburuLinkedIn: Morgan HutchinsonFollow Lydia:www.lydiafenet.comIG: @lydiafenetLinkedIn: Lydia FenetQuestions or comments, we'd love to hear from you...send us a text!Record a question here so we can answer it on the next episode of Claim Your Confidence. To stay up to date with Claim Your Confidence and get all the behind-the-scenes content, follow us on Instagram and on YouTube. If you enjoyed this episode, please subscribe and leave a rating and review on Apple or Spotify or where ever you get your podcasts.Recorded at The Newsstand Studios at Rockefeller Center.Thank you for listening.
