Representative Anna Eskamani flipped her legislative seat in 2018 and was re-elected in 2020. She has declared her candidacy for the Democratic party race scheduled for August 23, 2022. Rep. Eskamani has made pledges to not take money from fossil fuel companies and has a strong presence in the climate change community in Florida. She has continuously pushed for climate change bills and has not stopped, even as political opposition continues to delay change. Rep. Eskamani discusses her political career and her goals for the state of Florida. Providing protections to the environment, teaching colleagues about real climate statistics, and the struggles of gaining momentum in the current political atmosphere are all discussed in this episode.
