WiMENA Women in Sport Conference '24

CMEC Director Charlotte Leslie introduces highlights from the inaugural WiMENA (www.wimena.com) Women in Sports Conference that took place on June 6th, 2024 at Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea FC. The conference was held in partnership with the Arab British Chamber of Commerce ( abcc.org.uk) and featured inspirational sportswomen from the Middle East and North Africa as well as ambassadors, Ministers, and sports leaders from the MENA region and beyond. Spearkers: (In order of appearance) - The Rt Hon Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean, - HRH Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the US, - HRH Prince Khalid bin Bandar Al Saud, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the UK, - Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, the foreign office minister of state for the Middle East and North Africa, - Baroness Tani Grey-Thompson DBE, the former para-Olympian, - Katy Storie, Former England Rugby Player, Director of Sport for Newcastle University, - Karen Webb Moss, Chair of British Swimming and "More than Equal" - Burca Cetinkaya, the Turkish rally driver and Chair of FIA Women in Motorsport Commission, -Sarah Essam Hassanin, Egyptian women's national football team and TV commentator, - Lama Alfozan, fencer and member of the Saudi Athlete Committee.
