Ep. 159 David Vanterpool, Minnesota Timberwolves Associate Head Coach

Coach Brendan Suhr is joined by the Associate Head Coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves David Vanterpool. Before joining the Timberwolves this offseason, Vanterpool had spent the previous seven seasons as an assistant coach with the Portland Trail Blazers as he played an integral role in Portland’s success while earning a strong reputation for his basketball IQ, ability to connect with players and build lifelong relationships. In this episode, Coach Vanterpool discusses how he has developed a passion for coaching; the coaches he played for that influenced him to pursue a career in coaching after playing; his experience working with and learning from Terry Stotts the last 7 seasons; why he decided to join the Timberwolves coaching staff and Ryan Saunders; thoughts on some of the great players he has coached including Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum as well as his goals for his career and how they correlate to his “WHY” for coaching.
