He flew CH-53Es in Hawaii, was deployed to Darwin Australia with a brief tour in Thailand, following Hawaii, served as a Deputy Air Officer for 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade setting up aerial refueling between French Mirages and Marine KC-130s in the Middle East and spent 3 years as a helicopter flight teacher at Whiting field.
