How to Encrypt Your Text Messages and Phone Calls

15 Jan 2025

Description

The FBI has recently issued a warning that state-sponsored Chinese hackers had infiltrated the U.S. telecommunications networks. The FBI began investigating this hacking group, known as "Salt Typhoon," in late spring or early summer. They believe Chinese intelligence hacked into AT&T, Verizon, and Lumen Technologies and gained access, including records of phone calls and text messages for many people, particularly in Washington, D.C. The warning comes from the fact that anyone can intercept your phone calls and text messages unless you send encrypted phone calls and text messages. Here's what you need to know.
