Fariya ::: Learning to breathe with a mask during covid19

Description

Born in Zambia, and raised by Indian parents, Fariya spent most of her life growing up in Canada. As an adult, Fariya has over 23 years of experience in dealing with the art and science of healing the body. She is an experienced Registered Massage Therapist and a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner™. She studied Biology in university, completed a diploma in Massage Therapy and in 2004 became a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner™. She has continuously advanced her knowledge of movement and physiology, taking courses and workshops yearly. Her practice involves being a “Movement Detective” for people. Seeing glitches in a patient’s movement habits, she helps them correct and maintain better postural patterns. Fariya is a breathing specialist. It was her own breathing challenges, and a passion for anatomy and physiology that helped her hone her skills as a Breathing Coach. By studying The Feldenkrais Method and training in the Buteyko Method, she assists people with many types of breathing difficulties. Fariya is a member of the Registered Massage Therapist Association of Ontario , and the Feldenkrais Guild of North America. She has previously volunteered and served on the Executive Committee of the Niagara Area Business Women's Network (NABWN), the RMTAO and her local Massage Therapy Chapter. She has written articles for HWS Magazine in Niagara. Currently, Fariya serves on the Board of Directors for the Feldenkrais Guild of North America (FGNA).
