Josh Jenkins, Cam Lewis from the MCG. Beautiful Melbourne morning. We do it all thanks to the all-new Ford Ranger Wolf Track V6 and for Osito. And Osito Brussels power tools built to work. Osito, do you. JJ, we're gearing up for this one. The Tigers and the Roos. But we've got a couple of Tigers here in the Sunday Crunch Time studio. And it's exciting times because I don't

0

38.675 - 54.66 Liam Pickering

really know where to start because Judson Clark, who has got a huge smile on his face, which makes me think that playing football isn't too far away. And then we've got Mon Conte, the superstar, who's just been announced this morning as one of the first eight players to play for Australia. So I'm going to start with you, Mon. Congratulations.

0

54.881 - 55.902 Mon Conti

Thank you. Thanks a lot.

56.082 - 64.075 Liam Pickering

Exciting. It's been bubbling for a while. We see a huge amount of Irish influence in the AFLW and it just felt like the right game to play, didn't it?

64.443 - 82.574 Mon Conti

Yeah, absolutely. We've got a lot of Irish talent in the AFLW and in the men as well. But yeah, I think it's a super great opportunity to be able to showcase women's football. And like I said, there's so much Irish talent. So it's really cool to be able to actually play a game against them as well. And yeah, very honoured to pull on the green and gold as well.

82.594 - 85.118 Mon Conti

But yeah, it'll be a super fun, fast game for sure.

85.098 - 102.736 Liam Pickering

Look, we're getting closer and closer to your season, into the off-season. These type of announcements and the narrative that we'll build up will continue to expose AFLW as we get towards the opening season. But how do you find off-season? I know the basketball has been eased off a little bit, so you're just concentrating on the one sport, which gives you a little more time.

102.756 - 104.119 Liam Pickering

But how do you find the off-season?

Chapter 2: What challenges has Judson Clarke faced in his AFL career?

119.394 - 134.528 Mon Conti

But no, it's been good. I've been able to actually have a bit of a life. It's been really nice. Me and Ryan went to Europe at the end of the year and had a Euro Christmas, which was quite nice. So it's good to just be able to have a bit of a life there, but at the same time, it's really cool to be able to just do football for 12 months of the year and

0

134.508 - 139.217 Mon Conti

Even though the off season's long, I'm very fortunate to be able to call football a job as well.

0

139.478 - 140.179 Liam Pickering

It's amazing, isn't it?

0

Chapter 3: How does Mon Conti feel about being one of the first players to represent Australia?

140.199 - 154.407 Liam Pickering

The evolution of AFLW, you have lived it from day dot all the way to now and now the next evolution of it. How different is it in 2026 than what it was in 2017? Not just for you personally, but overall the entire league.

0

154.387 - 175.251 Mon Conti

Yeah, I've been having conversations about this the past couple of weeks actually. I think in the first season it was only like eight grand for all that training the girls did and all those really late nights at the club and everything like that. So it's come a really long way and a lot of the girls don't have to work full time anymore. So that's been really great.

0

175.291 - 189.329 Mon Conti

But it's just developed so much since day dot and I'm very fortunate to be a part of that journey as well and actually experience the growth and see it happening. But yeah, It's just super cool to see young girls coming into the league that have played football their whole entire life and they don't know any different.

0

189.349 - 204.593 Mon Conti

So I think that's really awesome for them to be able to come in and make an impact like that. And for the younger girls and boys as well to look at women's football and that's all they've ever known. They've only ever known women to play FLW. So yeah, it's really cool to see the growth and to be a part of it. It's been pretty awesome.

205.45 - 210.818 Cam Luke

Mon, we know you're a superstar, so let me at least involve Judson here somehow, someway.

210.858 - 213.081 Mon Conti

We were going to get there.

213.101 - 238.324 Cam Luke

Oh, sorry, my bad. No, no, no, not your bad at all. Judson, you've had multiple knee injuries. How have you balanced or how have you tried to maintain a positivity throughout those longer-term rehabs? I guess it's been easier because, unfortunately, the rehab groups at times have been larger than the actual playing group, the training group. But how have you found those dark days in rehab?

238.344 - 243.523 Cam Luke

Because they are very, very difficult for any player, regardless of the injury type.

244.347 - 267.692 Judson Clarke

You're actually right. Thanks for having me here today, guys. You're right. I think my second one was a lot easier because I had about four other guys with me all doing ACLs and we were around the same timeframe. So that helped a lot in terms of what we're doing, being able to compete with each other and against each other and sort of make rehab a I guess a competitive battle.

Chapter 4: What does Mon Conti think about the growth of AFLW since its inception?

524.659 - 526.804 Judson Clarke

Got a footy on my bed. Nice.

0

526.824 - 528.087 Mon Conti

Where's that grass?

0

529.332 - 531.875 Judson Clarke

I don't know now. You lost it. Yeah, I probably lost it.

0

531.895 - 533.597 Liam Pickering

Well, your first two kicks were goals, right?

0

533.617 - 533.937 Judson Clarke

Yep.

533.957 - 534.157 Liam Pickering

Yeah.

534.237 - 534.638 Judson Clarke

That's correct.

534.698 - 537.321 Liam Pickering

So grabbing the turf obviously worked because it was here, wasn't it? Yeah.

537.721 - 539.563 Judson Clarke

Maybe that's something in that, I reckon.

Chapter 5: How has Judson Clarke maintained positivity during his rehab process?

716.176 - 717.439 Liam Pickering

Yeah, I think he did. He said yeah.

0

717.499 - 719.363 Cam Luke

He hesitated. He's not going to say no.

0

720.786 - 739.509 Liam Pickering

Well, I don't know. I'm just making sure that he's, you know, he did say before, I'm happy to play if I lose by 20 goals when he gets back out there. Would you rather play Marvel or Hobart? Hobart? I was hosting SEN when the announcement broke, and I said, if any fan, Richmond fan, wants to ring up and say they'd rather go to Marvel than Hobart, and no one rang.

0

740.23 - 742.474 Liam Pickering

So I think going down to Hobart's a wonderful decision.

0

742.494 - 743.235 Mon Conti

We'd love to play at Marvel.

743.455 - 749.824 Liam Pickering

Yeah? It's a conversation. It's a continuing conversation. Would you like an AFLW gather round in grand final week?

750.968 - 761.219 Mon Conti

I would like to play more curtain raiser games. Anything that helps us get more eyes on us would be great.

761.819 - 779.338 Liam Pickering

We're slowly getting there, but we should absolutely have more. Congratulations to you, Mon. Thanks for dropping by. Can't wait to see that smile back on a football field in the next couple of weeks, man. We appreciate you. Thank you, guys. Not too far away. Perfect. Liam Pickering's not far away. We're going to get to the news wherever you might be. All thanks to the all-new Ford Ranger V-Trac.

779.318 - 785.127 Liam Pickering
