Hey there, Cassie. How's it going?
Hey, Andrew. Long time no see. I'm excited to talk about this episode.
Yeah, so Cassie, it's been a little while, but if I recall correctly, last time we talked on QLips, you told us a little bit about this big cross-country road trip that you did. I don't want to say recently because it was the summer of 2025, right? So a little time has passed. However, I really wanted to talk to you about that road trip in more detail because it sounded like...
Just like a huge adventure and so much fun. So here we are finally able to talk about it. And why don't we jump right in and get started? Cassie, why don't you do the honors and tell us where the road trip started and where it ended and everything that happened in the middle?
Okay, so I guess first I'll just give a very brief overview of each place we went to and then we can like dive into each one a little bit.

Chapter 3: How did Kassy manage traveling with a baby?
in Oregon, where my sister lives. And then we traveled eastward. So the next destination was in Arizona, where my best friend from high school lives with her husband. And then we made our way all the way over to Pennsylvania, where my parents live and where I'm from. And then we traveled down to North Carolina for our beach vacation that I'm pretty sure I've mentioned on this podcast before.
My family does it every summer. And then we finally caravaned back up to Pennsylvania to stay for one more week before flying back to South Korea.
Wow. Okay. Quite the trip. A two-month vacation. Amazing. Okay. So let's start in the West. And you arrived in Oregon. Now, Oregon is kind of in my neck of the woods back home in Canada. I'm from the West Coast and the Pacific Northwest. kind of refers to that area, Oregon, Washington State and British Columbia, which is my home province. So I'm a little bit familiar with this part of the world.
But what was your impression of Oregon? What did it feel like to you?
Well, I've been to Oregon several times because my aunt and my sister have lived out there for quite a few years now. But I love it. Oregon is so beautiful. And it's got a little bit of everything. It's got Portland, which is a big urban city. And it's got deserts out towards the east. And it's got temperate rainforests and the coast with its beautiful beaches towards the west.
And in the southern part where my sister lives, it's really mountainous and wild. She lives in a town, so it's not quite wild there. But her job is all about maintaining hiking trails. So she showed me all of her maps and different places that she goes to on a daily basis while we were there.
That's a cool job. I would love a job like that, I think, maintaining hiking trails. Probably not so easy. It's probably a lot of hard work, but that sounds really awesome.
The cool thing about Oregon is that it's got this eclectic vibe because, you know, it's kind of a backwoodsy place. But a lot of people from California moved to southern Oregon. So it's got kind of California-y vibes, but also woodsy vibes. And it makes for an interesting demographic of people.
Yeah, it is a really unique place. And yeah, you have this mixture of like super, super liberal and super, super conservative depending on where you are in the state. And so that makes for a really interesting place. I think I've always enjoyed my trips to Oregon. I've been there a few times. But Cassie, what did you guys get up to while you were visiting there?

Chapter 4: What were the highlights of Kassy's stay in Oregon?
Or you have to walk and sometimes it feels really uncomfortable when you walk and a little bit dangerous as well because you're the only one walking. There's nobody else walking. Like everybody else is in a car. So I've been in that situation before as well. And it is pretty weird, right?
It's so weird. But we were actually not there to spend much time in Phoenix. Our main goal was to go see the beautiful landscape in Arizona. I'm sure listeners know of one famous place, which is the Grand Canyon. I've always wanted to go, and I'm so excited we went. We went to the Grand Canyon for one day, and we checked out Sedona.
which is nearby there, which is full of just an amazing landscape, so many beautiful red rocks. And anybody who's seen an old Western movie, that landscape there that you can imagine in your head, that's what we saw in real life.
That's amazing. I've always wanted to see the Grand Canyon. And yeah, I want to visit Arizona. And Sedona has like this nice ring to it as well, right? It really flows off the tongue. Sedona, Arizona. I don't know something nice about that right from the very first sound of it. So yeah. Yeah, that's cool that you had a great time there. And let's continue to the next destination.
So you went all the way from Arizona to Pennsylvania, which is quite the distance. And I'm assuming that you flew again?
Yes, that was a direct flight though, luckily. I think it was five and a half hours to get from Arizona to Pennsylvania. Yeah.
Okay, yeah, I was under the impression for whatever reason that you were driving around from place to place, but you were flying around instead, which is much faster. I think that's a better idea.
We did drive coming up later in the trip.
Okay, okay, good. We'll get to that in a moment then. So Pennsylvania, your home state, I'm assuming that you did a lot of catching up with friends and family, that sort of thing. You mentioned that you did your yearly annual pilgrimage to the beach for your beach vacation as well in the Carolinas. But what are some other things that you did while you were there?
