Professor Julian Smith is Head of Monash University's Department of Surgery (School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health), Deputy Head of the School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health and Head of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Monash Health. He is also the editor-in-chief of the ANZ Journal of Surgery and has been on the forefront of pioneering innovations including the LVAD, heart and lung transplants and robot-assisted surgery.
