Our local machine is not where our code is supposed to run! We built okteto (github.com/okteto/okteto) so we can make our Kubernetes clusters look like our local machine. In this talk, we'll show you how okteto helps you take advantage of all the goodness of Kubernetes and the cloud without having to sacrifice a really fast development and feedback loop. Bio… Ramiro Berrelleza is one of the makers of Okteto. He has spent most of his career (and his free time) building cloud services and developer tools. Before starting Okteto, Ramiro was an Architect at Atlassian and a Software Engineer at Microsoft Azure. Originally from Mexico, he currently lives in San Francisco. Key take-aways from the talk… If you're building a Cloud Native app, you should use Kubernetes as part of your development environment, instead of just using it as a deployment target. Don't build, push, redeploy on every change.
