In this episode of Time Lost, Romy Day Winkel speaks to Los Angeles-based poet Elaine Kahn. As a response to the (un)publishability theme of these podcast series, Elaine sent us six unpublished poems. In the conversation that followed her reading of these, Romy and Elaine discuss writing intimacy in the pandemic and the relationship between religion and writing in a U.S.-context. Although these sociopolitical spheres are quite heavy at times, Elaine proposes poetic writing, and more specifically narration, as a tool for the imagination of a different world.
