Dear Little Me

186. Chasing A 'Normal' Life

25 Sep 2023

Description

On the HEAL blog How to Tune Into Your Intuition: A Guide to Unlocking Your Inner WisdomIf you don’t hear another story this year, you need to hear Beck’s story. Beck’s parents split when she was six years old and it was agreed that Beck, her mom and siblings would move into her Paternal Grandfather’s home. Instantly, the days of toys, play and having fun were over. In this house nobody had any rights. There were multiple women and children living in this house and Beck’s life now consisted of school, chores and punishments. When her mother finally left this situation, she moved Beck and her siblings into her Maternal grandparents home. However, the chaos continued. The truth is that Beck had been sexually abused by her Paternal Grandfather and now the Maternal grandfather she loved and trusted, also began to sexually abuse her. This story references the abuse Beck suffered, but we do not go into detail. This is not our focus. We are here to tell Beck’s story. An incredible, resilient and yet highly traumatised little girl who grew into a young woman who decided she would never allow that abuse to define her and fought every step of the way to make her way back to a normal lifePurchase Becks book CHASING NORMAL https://beckthompson.com.au/book/ You can find Beck at her website https://beckthompson.com.au/ On Instagram https://www.instagram.com/beck.thompson/If you have a story to share for this podcast please connect with me at https://www.instagram.com/mybigloveproject or send an email to [email protected].
