Karin Harrington is the Principal at Studio Partnership. With almost 30 years of experience in the industry, she has a keen eye for quality design. She has won many awards from many of the major hospitality brands. She joins host Dan Ryan to talk about her journey through the world of #hospitality and what it all means to her. Takeaways:  The hospitality industry is full of people who love what they do. They don’t view it as a job but rather something that they are lucky enough to do.Going on a vacation is aspirational. You want to go somewhere where you feel relaxed and comfortable in the environment.A sense of community can bring a positive impact to a business. You want to make employees feel welcomed where they are. You need to be empathetic with others. Everyone who plays a role in hospitality is important and if you don’t have that, then your space will never see success.The first step in the design process is programming. It’s your responsibility to make sure that you communicate effectively with the clients to make sure everyone is on the same page.Hospitals and doctors offices are spots where hospitality hasn’t really taken hold yet. There are a lot of factors at play as to why this hasn’t happened yet.COVID has changed it so that people have really slowed down and focused on what is most important to them. Quote of the Show: 16:34 “Hospitality is so different.
