03 Feb 2023

Description

“Grounding” or cultivating feelings of presence and safety in the body is not only about integrating a few practices into your life. There are often very real barriers we face when trying to ground or calm the nervous system, especially for trauma survivors. Grounding isn’t about hugging a tree, it’s about facing the discomfort of landing our full presence and power here onto this earth, when we may have patterns and conditioning that tell us the body is an unsafe place to be. In today’s episode, I discuss common blocks to grounding, the annoying but true things that other healers have taught me about grounding, and crucial lessons I wish I had learned sooner. Also in this episode: why grounding can feel threatening to the body 3 turning points for me in admitting why I was avoiding grounding stress addiction and coming down off cycles of chaos what the nervous system has to do with it Links:  Get bonus episodes on substack! https://depthwork.substack.com/ Sessions: https://www.jazminerussell.com/book 12 Grounding Practices for Fear Anxiety and Dissociation: https://witty-creator-9045.ck.page/fa99aed366 Reclaiming All Parts of You: Healing Shame Workbook & Meditation :  https://witty-creator-9045.ck.page/e89cafda64 Disclaimer: The DEPTH Work Podcast is for educational and entertainment purposes only.
