CUI releases Solus Power Topology, a part of the Novum Advanced Power product line, which is a 720 W quarter brick dc-dc converter with 36-60 Vdc input, 12 Vdc output (with plans to extend in the future), and an industry leading 445 W/in^3 power density. Jeff Smoot, VP of Engineering at CUI, and Joe Gorse, EE Editor for Design World, discuss the technology under the hood of the single-ended primary-inductor converter (SEPIC) plus buck converter which allows such performance gains over other power supplies.
