Lately, the focus of additive manufacturing is on the metal additive side. Whether the technology used to build metal parts is laser or electron beam, additive manufacturing and metal go together very well. We spoke with the president and CEO of Arcam, Magnus Rene, about trends and opportunities in metal additive manufacturing. Arcam focuses on the aerospace and healthcare industries, where its electron beam melting machines create fully dense metal parts that can weigh less than those made through traditional machining.
