Episode 11: Increasing the Green Cover

In conversation with Emmanuel Niyoyabikoze, a Burundi-based climate activist and the designer and director of the Greening Burundi Project. Greening Burundi works for environmental protection, planting and multiplying of trees in response to climate change. Emmanuel organises seminars and workshops focusing on community development, environmental education and the fight against environmental pollution. He partners with individuals, schools, communities and organisations to make them join the movement towards a better, cleaner, greener environment. In this episode, he shares his initial struggles, reactions from people around, why it is important for schools to have environmental education and make children active participants in responding to climate change, and goals for the future.
