24 – Norfolk Farming Conference – Defining The Future

29 Jul 2019

Description

This week Andrew and producer Claire review their recent visit to the Norfolk Farming Conference organised by AF. They realise their age and cynicism and so have interviewed a few young guns from the conference to give a more balanced view. Overall, however, they are very complimentary of a fascinating conference and a good opportunity to catch up with others. They test out their plan for redirecting money to a PR company to promote the good practices of British farmers effectively, revel in Minette Batters' direct approach and reel from Sir John Beddington's climate change slides. They also discuss Andrew Fearne's lively contribution to the conference and realise that food provenance certainly isn't everyone's priority when it comes to choices in the supermarket. Ian Webster present the market report for week commencing 18th February 2019 and in Farmchat Webby discusses the Six Nations with Dewings trader and former professional rugby player Joe Beardshaw. In honour of their younger days, they sample a drop of Strongbow as they discuss the tournament so far and Joe gives an insight into training and what makes a team.  Thanks to our sponsors this week:  Ben Burgess - East Anglia's premier agricultural, construction & grounds care equipment retailer. www.benburgess.co.uk The Dewing Grain Podcast is co-produced by www.eastcoastdesignstudio.co.uk and www.tinshedproductions.co.uk Dewing Grain - Independent grain trader for Norfolk & Suffolk 01263 731550 - www.dewinggrain.co.uk Hosted on Acast.
