95 – Murray Ferguson – Farming Undercover

This week in our Harvest 2020 market report Andrew has the latest views and news on the market.Next up, is the first of a two part interview, with our oldest farmer Murray Ferguson who is on the cusp of 90 and still going strong. Andrew quizzes him on his thoughts of Covid-19 and Murray sets this current situation against the bombings he endured in the second world war as a teenager in Sheffield. He recalls VE day and several close calls. Murray then goes on to tell us about being recruited for the secret service, which involved a cover job of working on a farm which sowed the seed for a love of farming, even after the more exciting element of the job finished after five years. Part two of this interview will be next week.This week we are promoting the NWRFU Minis who have a get together on 1st August from 1030 from 1230 at the club.
