Send us a textHappy Holidays from Didn't Read It! In tribute to the Victorian tradition of reading ghost stories at Christmas, Grace is here to read you a special, spooky holiday story: "Lucky's Grove," by H. R. Wakefield.  A wealthy landowner finds out that his Christmas tree may be a little more than he bargained for, and may have to pay the price for meddling with forces he didn't understand. Published in 1940, Wakefield's tale offers a bit of a pagan twist (with very gentle Lovecraftian undertones, IMHO) on the traditional Christmas ghost story.Thanks so much for being with us this far, and if story time isn't your thing, never fear!
