Are men still being paid more than women?

According to data from the BBC men still earn more than women for the same work. The difference in wages (for the medium worker) is 9.4%, the same as it was in 2017 when companies were first obliged to publish their figures. The gap remains larger in the public sector at 15.1% compared to 8% in the private sector but neither have changed significantly from previous years.  “The gender pay gap is closing at a snail’s pace, At current rates of progress, it will take more than 20 years to close it. That’s just not good enough.
