A plantar plate sprain is an overstretched, possibly even partially ripped ligament on the bottom of one your little toe joints in the ball of the foot. When you get a plantar plate sprain, there are really 3 issues: Inflammation Tissue damage Stress preventing healing You have to address all three if you really want to get better quickly and get back to running.
