When Amanda was growing up, she thought she knew about all of the creatures that lived on and around her family's farm, in the foothills of North Carolina. One fall evening, in 1999, after dark, she found out that wasn't the case. That evening, she learned the hard way that, something she had never seen before was prowling around their property.
