Cassi was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis in 2020 after living with symptoms for 12 years. Her health continued to deteriorate, and in 2021, she discovered she was battling mold, Bartonella, Mycoplasma, Lyme, and parasites. She contracted Covid in 2022 and afterwards, developed dysbiosis and was left with SIBO. Her doctor presented her with two options - adopting a carnivore diet or opting for expensive pharmaceuticals that may not work and would most likely be denied by insurance. She embarked on the Carnivore diet with the aim of correcting her gut health, and given the improvement of her arthritis symptoms, she has maintained this diet ever since.
