#122 Darcy Vescio

This week on Dyl & Friends, I’m pleased to bring you all a chat with an awesome friend and champion footballer, Darcy Vescio. Darc is coming off a stellar season with the Blues picking up the league goal-kicking award as well as a best and fairest. She was truly special this year and set new benchmarks for the ever-growing AFLW competition. If you’ve been living under a rock and aren’t too familiar with Darcy’s career, she played a marquee role in launching the AFLW competition, quite literally, with a best-on-ground display in the first ever official AFLW game against Collingwood. Since the inception of AFLW, Darcy has been a key figure on and off the field bringing the game forward. Most notably, she was central in fighting for improved conditions and salaries for the Women’s competition. I learnt a lot sitting down with Darc and hearing about the nuts and bolts of AFLW as well as her own journey into the sport. Can’t thank Darc enough for coming in and catching up! Lesssssgooooo.
