Tyler Robinson: Life inside the Tactical Operations Unit | #283

Description

Content warning: This episode covers some pretty heavy stuff, including graphic mentions of suicide, intense experiences from Tyler's time in the force, and a really heartbreaking case involving the death of a child. If you are not in the headspace for this right now, please look after yourself and feel free give one a miss or come back when you're ready. LifeLine Crisis Support is available 24/7 at 13 11 14. This week on Dyl & Friends I'm joined by Ex-TOU officer, Tyler Robinson. Tyler is a former Tactical Operations Unit officer, breacher, was a part of the riot squad, bike patrol… he’s pretty much done it all in the force. We chat about what life’s actually like inside the job – the pressure, the adrenaline, and the mateship that keeps you going. Tyler opens up about his time in general duties, moving into TOU, and how things started to take a toll mentally. He speaks honestly about developing PTSD, feeling let down by the system, and eventually hitting a point where he knew he had to get help. It's raw, real, and a conversation that needs to be heard. Big thanks to Tyler for coming on and being so open & honest during this chat.
