Dr Shane, Dr Krystal and Dr Ray, with three studio guests.Guest 1: Dr Tamsyn Van Rheenen from the Melbourne Neuropsychiatry CentreTamsyn's research uses neuropsychological and neuroimaging techniques to study the brain and behaviour in bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Currently, she is involved in a number of projects assessing the way in which people with these disorders respond to and process social and non-social information.Guest 2: Dr Alyssia Rossetto from School of Population and Global HealthAlyssia's research area is mental health first aid, which is the help offered to a person developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Until recently, we lacked comprehensive information on what knowledge the Australian public had about mental health first aid. Without this information, it is difficult to know what Australians are already doing well and what knowledge or skills would make them more effective helpers.Guest 3: Dr Ailie Gallant from Monash UniversityDr. Gallant's research aims to better understand droughts by looking at how the atmosphere, oceans and the land work, by themselves and together. By identifying the processes that lead to droughts, we can better predict and prepare for droughts as well as reveal a clearer picture of how human-induced climate change might affect droughts in the future.
