100. How to Establish the Habit of Consistency

21 Oct 2024

Description

Woo hoo! Welcome to the 100th episode of my podcast! In this episode, I’ll explain how to develop the habit of consistency. I’ll talk about what I’ve learned from walking at least 10,000 steps every day since March 19 and how it applies to your direct sales business. Here are the eleven tips I’ll cover for developing consistency:Track your progress. It will take a long time to see dramatic results, but if you track your progress, the daily win of consistency will help keep you motivated.Set an activity-based (not a results-based) goal. You can control your actions. You can’t control your results, and results will be inconsistent.Define what consistency means to you. It doesn’t have to be daily; it could be weekly, but you have to know when you’re successful.Plan for success. You have to be intentional about being consistent and about working your business, especially when your schedule is atypical. Everything adds up. You can work your business in nooks and crannies if you're intentional. Every post, every message, every conversation counts. Celebrate everything. Celebrate consistency. Celebrate progress. Celebrate doing it even when you didn’t want to. Celebrate stepping out of your comfort zone.Do this for yourself. Build your business because you want to build a business. You'll never really enjoy your business if you’re too focused on prizes, trips, promotions, or recognition.Take notice of the non-tangible rewards. Appreciate your experiences, the people you met, and what you learned. Give yourself grace. Consistency doesn’t mean perfection, and there will be a time when you break your streak. Pick up where you left off and keep going.Make it as fun as possible, but understand that everything in your business won’t be fun. Sometimes you have to suck it up and do something because it needs to get done. Don’t sacrifice your success or consistency because you have to do unfun things. It takes time to do your activity, to develop consistency, and to see results. Be willing to commit to yourself, your goals, and the time it takes.RESOURCES:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kellydnorthcottGet your questions answered on the podcast: ask them by filling out this formFree Facebook Community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/directsalesworkshops Learn more about my programs: https://www.kellynorthcott.com/learn  Follow me to stay up to date with all episodes of the Elevate Your Direct Sales Business Podcast with Kelly Northcott!
