Episode 32: Cory Clouston {How To Become An Active Participant In Your Own Success}

14 Dec 2020

Description

In this episode I have Kamloops Blazers & Ex Ottawa Senators coach Cory Clouston. Cory and I discuss the importance of developing an entire skillset as an athlete. Don't simply be "the goal scorer" "the playmaker" or whatever else it might be.  Be a player that coaches can put ANYWHERE in their line up.As well as developing the entire skillset, one of the MOST important pieces of this interview if you can take anything away is the intentionality needed to be a high level athlete. Whatever situation you are facing, there is a way to find a solution.If you are being benched - Talk to your coach and ask what you need to do instead of sitting around feeling sorry for yourself.If you got cut - Talk to the coaches and see what you could have done betterIf you need anything, lean on your support system. The journey of being an athlete is a difficult one. Don't try to do it alone. The better your support system, the more intentional you are about adversity you are facing, the better off you are going to be.Thank you for tuning into another episode of The Elite Development Podcast! Please do me a huge favour and leave a rating / review for the show.To get in contact with Cory reach out;Linkedin: Cory CloustonEmail: [email protected] out the full show here;www.elitedevelopmentpodcast.caCheck out my website;www.coachdusseault.comE-mail me: [email protected] me on social media;Instagram: @coachdusseaultTwitter: @coachdusseaultFacebook: Coach Dusseault - Strength and Conditioning
