Episode 70: Pasco Valana {Build Up Your Off-Ice Bench}

This week I have the pleasure of chatting with Pasco Valana, the founder of Elite Goalies Inc. and author of "Building Elite Level Goaltenders".  In this talk, Pasco breaks down how he created the systems that he has developed with Elite Goalies Inc. I loved learning about this because his approach is centred around the ATHLETE over everything else.  He has broken down the job of a goaltender, but takes those systems and those training principles and applies them to individuals. As he puts it in the interview "Every athlete is as different as every finger print" and this means that every athlete will have some different needs. .What I really loved about this interview though was Pasco's focus on the details. When talking about "upgrading your processes" he discusses minor changes you can make as an athlete to develop into a true professional.  The prime example is an example Pasco learned from a seminar talking about hydration. By being dehydrated you become 10% less effective in any given task.  Meaning 10 more goals saved for every 100 shots. Think about the difference you can make in your sport by simply being 10% better.
