Celebrating Individuality to Create a Sense of Belonging

Nikki Humphrey, Chief People Officer at Virgin Group, will discuss how companies can foster a true sense of belonging for employees. Virgin Group is driven by its united purpose: changing business for good. Nikki will explain why and how putting purpose at the heart of everything Virgin Group does leads to ground-breaking results for its people, and the way that this unites employees worldwide. This approach includes embedding three traits - Be Brave, Be Human, and Be Visionary - as part of the company’s Purpose and Vision strategy. During her presentation Nikki will focus on the trait “Be Human” and how companies can create a community and a place of belonging by being inclusive, valuing diversity, and trusting their people. The speech will highlight the importance of putting colleagues at the heart of company initiatives; it will encourage companies to break down the barriers that might prevent people from bringing their true selves to work, and to strive to create a community of belonging where everyone feels safe, secure, and supported.
