A Look at Loneliness  With Sydney Black MS, LPC   Have you ever been lonely? I have. It surprised me. Yet, I learned a lot from being lonely.   Listen in if you are lonely, have ever been lonely or know someone who is. Jesus experienced the feeling of loneliness too. He knows just how to help.   In this episode, we talk about loneliness and:  Isolation and the types of loneliness Not wanting to burden others How we can listen to untrue voices in our head What it’s like to feel disconnected Longing for companionship The physical and mental effects of loneliness Causes of loneliness Situational loneliness and chronic loneliness The signs of loneliness Listeners, loneliness, being alone and solitude are not the same things. You need to know the difference as well as recognize the signs of loneliness, in either yourself or those you love. SEEK HELP IMMEDIATELY by calling 988 if you feel suicidal. 911 also is helpful in an emergency. Involve God, involve others and seek help.   “Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish…Guard my life and rescue me…for I take refuge in You.” Psalm 25: 16, 17 & 20.   “…for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you or forsake you.” Deut. 31:6   “If God is for us, who can be against us?
