EE 196: Rites of Passage

In Episode 196 we do another solocast. Today's theme is "Rites of Passage". In today's America I believe we are culturally broken. We don't have much in terms of traditions or rites of passage, yet nearly every single indigenous culture around planet Earth prioritizes a rite of passage as a way of growing into adulthood. Both men and women are subjected to an array of different challenges related to their specific customs and livelihoods that ultimately result in them becoming a celebrated and revered member of society, if they successfully complete the tasks laid out for them. I think as Americans we have much to learn by figuring out how to empower our children and encourage them to face challenges in the face of fear and adversity.
