EP 12: Fighting Battles with a Strong Mind and Grateful Heart | Julia Rezende

On this episode, I'm joined by my beautiful friend I call my little sister, Julia Rezende who shares with us how her strong mindset helped her get through one of the most unexpected seasons of her life.⁣ ⁣ Back in July, Julia was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) and admitted to Moffitt Cancer Center where she immediately began around the clock chemotherapy and blood product transfusions. After 6 weeks of intense treatment and little sleep, Julia was discharged from the hospital and could celebrate her 19th birthday by being home with her family and dog, Brownie.⁣ ⁣ While in the process of remission, she still drives back and forth to Tampa for chemo (4 weeks on/4 weeks off) and is scheduled for her last round to end in April. Despite all adversity, Julia continues to pursue her passion for health & fitness and is currently studying neuroscience to go to med school.⁣ ⁣ Her light so shines bright - and she reminds us of the truth that no matter how dark the night could be, the sun will always rise again.
